In May this year, the Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council Planning Committee unanimously refused planning consent for the Richborough Estates proposed development of 63 houses on land North of Station Road (in front of the golf course land ref. 20/01021/OUT). In response to this, Richborough Estates have appealed and called for a Public Inquiry into this decision.

The Public Inquiry starts on Wednesday 8 December 2021 at 10:00 in the De Montfort Suite at Hinckley Hub and is anticipated to sit until Friday 17th December.

Anyone wishing to attend the Inquiry either to observe or speak must make that interest known to the Council by Friday 26th November 2021, by emailing  planning@hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk  giving your name, telephone number and email address,  quoting reference APP/K2420/W/21/3279808 and stating whether you wish to just observe or speak.

Note that all those who want to speak at the Inquiry will need to be in attendance at the Inquiry on the first day – Wednesday 8 December at 10:00. The inspector will then determine if, when and for how long people will be allowed to speak on subsequent days.

Even if you do not wish to speak at the inquiry, the more people who attend to show solidarity with the community the better, so please try to attend one or more days if you are able.

Representatives from the Parish Council and the Bosworth Vision Planning Group will be in attendance and speaking on behalf of the community and in support of the neighbourhood plan, but should you wish to make a personal comment or impact statement, you are welcome to do so. It would help to show the strength of feeling of the community if as many people as possible asked to speak against this development proposal. Anyone who objected to the development proposals may apply to speak.

The formal notice of the public inquiry gives information about the appeal venue and dates/times.

Further information about the inquiry, parking arrangements and information on how to ‘attend’ virtually can be found the the following document: Richborough Appeal Information  (Note that the date of 1st December mentioned in the letter applies only to those who have received it directly from HDDC – anyone else needs to register by 26th November).
