The unwanted speculative development in front of the golf course on the north side of Station Road may be approved by HBBC. The application will be considered by HBBC planning committee on 25th May and the planning officer is recommending that the committee approve it, in spite of HBBC only recently updating the Neighbourhood Plan as previously posted at Modification to the Neighbourhood Plan
John Wasteney, the chair of the Parish Council, has written to the planning officer outlining the concerns of the Parish Council, Bosworth Vision and the many residents who have written to HBBC opposing this development. In his email John explains that the Neighbourhood Plan is not out of date and that this development is directly contrary to the views of Market Bosworth residents who support development of the Station Field site. He also expresses wider concerns about the impact of this and other unwanted developments on the infrastructure and environment of Market Bosworth. the text of John’s email can be seen at Text of JW email to Nicola Smith regarding housing north of Station Road May 2021
What can you do?
- Attend the planning committee meeting via YouTube at Agenda for Planning Committee on Tuesday, 25 May 2021, 6.30 pm | Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council (hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk). The more people who log on and view the planning committee meeting the more the committee will understand the strength of feeling of the community. This is also an opportunity to see how effectively your elected representatives undertake to carry out the will of those they represent. It will also allow you to see how professionally HBBC’s planning officers undertake their duties. You can also read the planning officer’s report on this application on the above link (agenda item 8)
- Pass this article on to your friends and family in Market Bosworth
