The draft Design Brief (also known as the Masterplan) for the development of the Station Field site has now been published.

This document was commissioned by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council (HBBC) and St Peter’s Parochial Church Council (SPPCC) and is a major step forward in the plans to deliver a sustainable housing development within Market Bosworth in accordance with the Neighbourhood Plan. The objective is to provide a development of high quality housing in keeping with the character of Market Bosworth. It has affordable housing integrated within the scheme as well as providing business units for both existing and new businesses.

It is intended that this Development Brief will be adopted by HBBC as a Supplementary Planning Document to inform the development of this site, which is the allocated site for mixed use development within both HBBC’s Site Allocations and Development Management DPD and the Market Bosworth Neighbourhood Plan. The allocation seeks the provision of approximately 100 residential dwellings, a half to one hectare of employment land, and associated infrastructure, open space and landscaping.

This document reflects the aspiration of HBBC to assist in the delivery of the mixed use development of the site. In doing so, this exercise will contribute to HBBC’s vision for the Borough to be ‘a place of opportunity’ which seeks to create great places to live, work and relax in. It sets out the site’s capacity and deliverability, and shows how the site may be developed in a sustainable manner to provide an attractive new extension to the existing community.

Public consultation on this document will be held later in the summer once the current COVID-19 restrictions are sufficiently relaxed, after which it will hopefully be formally adopted.
